Hi! I am an interim department chair and associate professor of Special Education. I have a Ph.D. in the Education of Students with Exceptionalities with a focus on children with disabilities ages birth to five. With degrees in Speech-Language Pathology and Special Education, I taught young children with disabilities in public schools for eight years. My passion and expertise include social-emotional, early communication, academic supports for young children with disabilities and their families, and family advocacy.
Previous grants and partnerships include YMCA Early Learning Child Development LLC, Head Start and Early Head Start, a Marcus Autism Center, and the West Georgia Community Foundation.
I disseminate my research through academic publications and presentations, am president of the Georgia Division of Early Childhood, and am a member of the Council for Exceptional Children and the National Association for the Education of Young Children, as well as their local chapters.
